Internet Marketing

Are you getting what you expected from your marketing firm?

Many Internet marketing companies offer services to their clients without even checking to see those services will be of any benefit to them and rarely ask what their objectives are. We actually attempt to check and see if we can be of help. We run several tests to see where they may be lacking and on occasion we have run across some that are doing very well in the online marketing arena.  There have been times when we have discovered some exceptional web design work that incorporates proper coding for search engine indexing along with functionality. In such cases, we let the potential client know that they are in good hands. However, this is not the norm.

With so many companies claiming that they are Internet Marketers and can perform Internet marketing on your behalf it can be tough for the small business owner.

Most business owners are not all that savvy on Internet Marketing, or have been burned by less than straightforward companies out to line their pockets and are not even capable of helping a client reach their objectives. This type of practice gives everyone in the industry a bad name.

Internet Marketing is not Easy

Internet Marketing is not easy, but it can be made to sound simple by some. It may be difficult for the average business owner to find information on an online marketing company. Even the big boy’s out there can leave a sour taste in your mouth.

I have been using online marketing techniques for more than a decade now and there is always something-new coming up and changing the way we pursue a market. No two companies are alike and they require different methods of exposure. Some do just fine with pay per click while others crash and burn at it. Just a side note on pay per click, a recent study published by Richard Stokes Founder and CEO of Adgooroo shows that 99% of Marketers fail at paid search. Now that’s an interesting number.

Some companies’ do a wonderful job with local marketing and social media and again others have problems making it work for them.

A Good Digital Marketing Company

A good Internet Marketing company should offer you reasons for taking you down a given road and not just try and sell you on their particular product or service.

A good Search Engine Optimization Company should be able to explain what they are doing behind the scenes on your website and the reason for it. And if they offer little or no advise on correcting the problems on your website, they are not SEO companies. They should understand coding issues and know what works and what won’t work. A good SEO company will need to review your site for corrective action regarding coding issues and may need to speak with your webmaster to make changes in the code to enhance your sites performance. For more information on this subject please read the Fundamental Aspects of SEO published on our Blog late last year.

Are they Really SEO/ SEM Specialists?

Regardless of whether they call themselves SEO or SEM providers, marketing on the Internet is not an easy task. With all the options out there and everyone sending out emails about how they can’t find you on Google, and how their super advertising programs blows away the competitions, even some of the most respected names in the industry make claims that their sites get 83,000,000 visits a month. And when you check into it and find that the number is actually half of that, you begin to wonder about their motives. Maybe it has something to do with a $350.00 a month contract they want you to sign. Why do they need to lock you into a contract anyway, is it because when you don’t get what you believe you paid for they still want you to pay for it anyway? Go figure!

Its no wonder why so many now look at their websites as brochures and anyone who calls upon them as vultures.

What some marketing companies fail to realize is that their customer is turning to them for help in generating business, and when they don’t gain any new business from their advertising efforts they get annoyed, really annoyed.
